Review of Osaka’s private four-hour walking tour, with licensed guides, flexible sights, food stops, costs, walking demands, and booking advice.

“Romi was rude and unprofessional. She was fairly knowledgeable but her English wasn’t great. When we asked for clarification, she was very impatient and acted like WE were the ones with language issues. When we asked questions, she kept telling us she had already explained that earlier. She was eager to get done and despite telling her I had a knee injury, she made practically jog along. These private tours with government licensed guides are hit or miss. We had a bad one in Tokyo too but he was at least polite. The one in Kyoto was amazing. So do your research and read the reviews so don’t end up…”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ EXCEPTIONAL GUIDE - HUGO MADE OUR OSAKA EXPERIENCE UNFORGETTABLE! As first-time visitors to Osaka, my husband and I couldn't have asked for a better guide than Hugo. From start to finish, he delivered an absolutely phenomenal day that has become the highlight of our entire trip to Japan. Hugo's service began with incredible convenience - he met us right at our hotel, which was so helpful and made everything seamless from the very start. No confusion about meeting points or getting lost trying to find each other! Hugo's expertise and local knowledge are truly impressive. He took us to incredible places we never would have discovered on our own…”

“We had a great day Yuka our guide was exceptional, she managed to fit in everything we wanted to see as well as organising a tea ceremony for us. Well worth it we would not have been able to see the Gion district otherwise. We were on a cruise and Yuka and our driver Mr Kato met us at the cruise terminal in Osaka which meant we had a seamless day.”

Guided days alternate with free time. Guide assignments vary; one guide named Koko has been praised for clear explanations.

“The 10 Days Japan tour organized by UME Travel was one of the best family vacations we have ever had. The private guide was excellent and helped us understand Japanese culture and traditions. Our children especially enjoyed the bullet train ride and trying different Japanese foods. Hiroshima was a very powerful experience and the Peace Memorial Park visit was unforgettable. UME Travel customized the itinerary slightly for us, which made the trip even more comfortable. Highly recommended for families visiting Japan for the first time.”
