Ride from Nagoya to Takayama and Shirakawa-go with a Chinese-, English-, or Korean-speaking guide, then explore both at your own pace. Choose carefully: the 9:00 package skips the observatory, while other departures include access. Look for Hida beef, Takayama ramen, and the Ochudo cafe’s hearth-cooked red bean porridge.
